MANDU!

i guess that's how you spell it. it's been snowing all morning, which is fine by me seeing as i got these sweet boots by way of travis by way of the big l. i'm ready for the snow,"bring 'em on" as GW says. we're in our apartment finally. it's basically one room that has a bed, couch, desk with a computer already provided and a closet. there are seperate kitchen, bath, and small sunroom areas though. it's quaint i guess. julie and jamie are at the school right now, so i ventured out a short distance to get some grub by my lonesome. the dude who used to have this apartment told us there's some good mandu around the corner, so i checked it out. i paid two bucks and got 6 mandus, a bag of sauce and some slivers of this yellow veggie that i threw away. from what i gather mandu is a steamed dumpling filled with cabbage and pork. they rule. i think i could survive solely on those alone. i'm excited to know that i can get way more food than i can eat at one time for that cheap. there is also a bar that literally takes less than 30 seconds to get to from our front door. i reckon we'll do just fine in our new hood. that's it fer now.

well, my dear grandson, it sounds like a great adventure. don't know that i'd be brave enough, even at this tender age, to venture there. love the idea that you're getting a lot of food for the $$$$ would love to taste some of that mandu. our weather here in the south, actually think mother nature has gotten the zones mixed up.....we are experiencing cooler than normal weather and the weatherman predicts snow flurries in the charlotte area. remember how you and travis used to love the CHARLOTTE HORNETS. well, as i'm sure you know they are no longer here but they have a new basketball team and seems to me, they are not anywhere loved as much as the previous team, the HORNETS. will comment again, really enjoy reading all about your adventures. i'd actually love to be there, if it was, let's say 30 miles away. NOT.

Hey guys, Zsuzsa here. Great to know you all got there safe and sound and that there's a bar that literally takes less than 30 seconds to get to from your front door:)) yeap, i read your journal pretty carefully.

I guess you guys will be spending a great deal of time with discovering all the interesting and weird stuff. I have his feeling in my guts that "food" will play an important role. Those dumplings sound pretty good. I think I know what you're talking about. Asians just love dumplings, so you won't be short of that, that's for sure.

Here life is pretty much the same, just pretty sad to see the abandoned apartment "A" and driveway... Oh yeah, the 2006 Winter Olympics started today. It's in Torin, Italy this year. I'm sure Koreans have a team or two also. That's a conversation topic idea right for you:) So the opening ceremony just ended; it was pretty ridiculous Italian style, kind of random "glam"-stuff. After some bizarre ballet- dancing, this Formula-1 car comes on stage and starts making donuts!! Of course, the American team went crazy and almost started jumping up and all. I'm not very interested in winter olympics but I'll let you know if something outrageous happens. OK guys, I have to go now; Annie and I went to Shakespeare's last night for a few drinks. really, we only had a few drinks but somehow i just felt sooo tired today...so, you got my point, I need some sleep. I hope Roar that you'll be having a lot of fun w/ the trash. Take care all of you and keep us posted! Miss ya.
